Hi,
thanks for your ideas - please let me coment:
1.) The specialty of Quicknote is the ease of access and the always-availability due to hotkey and wake up line. A systray icon is not visible in case a window is maximized and on top and additionally the icons are more and more hidden in newer Windows versions.
It could be added as supplemental possiblity to wake up Quicknote but I see this with very low priority.
2.) It is already possible to have images as notes (right click the note in the category view and choose "Note preferences"). Adding an image intot he text would mean needing Rich Text abilities, to which I said arguments against it in bug #48.
3.) I don't really know what you mean here. You want to disable the reminder function as a whole or a single reminder? Why not delete the not needed reminders then, or if you want to re-use them set them to appear the current day only?
4.) This is a good idea. If I would have got more time before finishing verion 5.5, I would have done this. It is on my Quicknote to do list in higher priority.
5.) The notes can already be encrypted one-by-one. Refer to the online documentation (videos) or help file.
6.) I don't understand this, do you want Quicknote to terminate running programs? Please reformulate.
7.) Please see bug #62.
8.) Windows Vista/7 is already handling this nicely, I think.

Hai,
Thanks for the reply,
1)I understand this as your low priority, i play some games and accedently move the cursor on the hidden icon and so the desktop comes up minimising the games, that is why i requested this option.
2)Thanks for the same i will refer to it.
3) I meant is to add the disable/ enable option for each remainder (and also for groups), so that if i need to skip the particular remainder for a single time and re-enable it. It would be useful. Deleting and creating takes some time.
4)Thanks for your high priority.
5)I did not mean to say to encrypt the notes. i mean to say to password protect the program so that if other users try to change the remainder or any settings they would need the password to do so. I asked this option because sometimes i set the shutdown time so that the user uses only for that specified time, and he may change the remainder only if he has the password. My brother always deletes that remainder.
6) I can open the program at a specified time using the remainder, supose if i want to close that program after some time automatically i guess i need the option for that.
7) Thanks i will refer to it.
8) Multiple world timers and world clocks are there, but for windows xp. Just a thought
9) Is it possible to open mp3 files, if not can you add that.
10) Is there a option to provide volume minimiser so that when shutting down the system automatically, the volume would just fade down when running songs in the mp3 player.
Thanks in advance.

Vinod. | Jens Müller (Admin) <jm quicknote.de>

Some further comments:
1) In that case, you can either: relocate the wake up line or deactivate it completely, replacing it by a hotkey.
3) Maybe when adding categories to reminder's tasks
5) This seems not to be a correct security concept. If users are running under your user account, they can also completely close Quicknote, e.g. using the task manager. Consider using a system wide shutdown time policy option (windows provides this) covered by an administrator account password for your use case.
6) Hmm, I see complications here, what if programs ask something then ("Do you want to save xxx")? Furthermore, you can close windows associated with a process, or kill the entire process, which leasds to an unexpected situation from the view of the program.
9) Yes you can. Choose the reminder option "run file", browse for the file and change the filter to "All files, *.*" and select the mp3 file.
10) No, this is too special. | Vinod <vhsvk rediffmail.com>

1) Noted, its just a tip needed for me.
3) Thanks, Can i take take it that it would be your high priority.
5) I guess i will stick to the hot key.
6) If you want to run a series of songs through a media player or a presentation (to show only a part of it,) then you won't be needed a save option. But if it is some other program then the file can be saved as "filename01" or something like that.
9) Thanks but I was asking if in the alert tone in remainder, can we use mp3 format, as of now i see only wav format.
10) I understand that.
1),5) When the quick note is hidden can you make quicknote appear in the process list alone and not to be seen in the application list in the taskmanager. Check the taskmanager for the application "orbit download manager" (when open and minimise to system tray). you will understand that. Also it consumes less memory when minimised. (You can check other programs too like AIMP, Outlook 2003, utorrent, etc.,)
Thanks in advance.

3) I can't promise anything, I'm currently finishing my studies and whether I have any time for Quicknote then, I don't know.
9) No, only wave files are supported. I have noted this for a future improvement. But as I said, as workaround, you can add another rmeinder at the same dates with action "run a file" and selecitng the mp3 to be played by the defualt player.
1),5) Deactivate "show in taskbar" in the options, tab "Interface". This removes Quicknote from the application list, too. And there is not difference in memory consumption, Quicknote minimizes its memory as soon as it is put into sleep mode. | Vinod <vhsvk rediffmail.com>

Thanks for your patient reply.
3) Noted to see in your future release.
6) Can you advise this option please.
9) Noted to see in your future release.
1),5) I only use quicknote with that (sow in taskbar) option deactived, but i still see the process in the application list in the taskmanager.
Thanks for your great program and wishes for your final year studies.
